After releasing our first EP under Makaan Records, “Zamaan - زمان “ by Taha One , we embarked on a journey through North Africa. Makaan 6 we’ll bring the heat as we celebrate our resilience through music, at our beloved venue Fold - Steam Room, on Saturday, June 8th. We present our lineup with a special emphasis on North African sounds and beats combined with Techno. Line up: •⁠ ⁠Anahita Shamsaei •⁠ ⁠FAEL •⁠ ⁠Saroor •⁠ ⁠Taha One We can’t wait to share this space with other artists dedicated to music and art, despite facing numerous challenges such as sanctions, and visa rejection. Kicking off the night will be FAEL, performing virtually from Algeria. FAEL’s set will be projected onto the screen, So make sure to arrive by 23:00 to catch her set. Following FAEL, the rest of the DJs will take over the Steam Room physically. We are honored to have Saroor join us, as she exemplifies a true warrior, using music as a tool to fight patriarchal discourses, with a heavy focus on the darker more percussive sides of techno, and drawing inspiration from her Sudanese heritage.
